Do you still do that crafty stuff?

My niece, Ashley, asked me if I still do that "crafty stuff". Particularly, a sampler I made for her mom and my brother when they got married.  Ashley is still in high school, but she asked if I could make something for her and her boyfriend Shahib. They just went to Shahib's prom, so I put a picture of them from that in. Love you Ashley!

Done on "Lemon Sparkle" fabric from Silkweaver fabrics.  I used "Romance" from Weeks Dye Works. The chart was at the following link that no longer works, but I wanted to give her credit: http://passionbroderie77.over-blog.com/

To start a brand new adventure together....

So my friend's son recently got engaged.  They are the cutest couple on the planet.  I'm so happy for them!  They just got their first place together, and so they needed a little something for the place. :)

I used Silkweaver fabrics, (unfortunately I don't know the color), and it's a Lizzie Kate design, "Bless Our Home".

Happy Mother's Day!

This year I made two special cards for C's grandmothers!

I used the idea I got at the following blog:

Mamma Mia...

When I was in my teens I joined a fraternal organization, The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.  I am proud to say that even though I've moved to upstate NY, thanks to Facebook, I can keep in touch with lots of my "sisters."

One particular Sister is being so brave and strong I can't even begin to tell you.  Her daughter Mia was so eager to have Carrie as her Mommy she had to come early.  Very early.  But she's fiesty like her Momma!  She's reached her 30 week mark, and I love reading about her achievements every couple of days.

Since sometimes work gets in the way, I thought it would be nice to have a little something with Mia until she can be with her Mommy and Daddy full time.  My girl helped me pick out the Ducky for Miss Mia.

Valentine's Day 2013

For Claire's Valentine Day party this year at daycare.  I found the printable labels here: http://www.acraftyhouse.com/2012/02/free-valentines-day-printable-for.html through Pinterest.

What a cute idea this was!  Got the bubbles from Target and the treat bags as well in the $1 bins!

Happy Valentines Day!!

Christmas gift crafting!

It was a bit of a Pinterest Christmas this year. I made a frame for my parents to display their grandkids pictures, and I made Hand "Santa tizers".

Is my bulldog done yet?

My youngest brother loves Bulldogs.  A few months ago he lost his best friend Arthur to old age.  13!!!  He now has a new buddy Ted.  But for years and years, he has asked me to make him a bulldog in cross stitch.  I have made quite a few attempts, always getting a project that is much bigger than I thought.  Well, I found a manageable one, finally, and finished it!!

So this morning, while he was coaching at Wrestling practice, I texted and asked if he was busy.  He said he was at practice, but what's up?  I said, "Oh, just wanted you to know I love you..." And sent him this:

I found the pattern online at http://un-jour-une-grille.over-blog.com

So here's my tribute to Arthur, or as I liked to call him, "Arty Farty"  I remember the day we went to meet him for the first time, and I knew then, he was going to be Harry's buddy for life. <3
